Another #bridechat has passed us by! Every Thursday at 2pm EST we love hearing from our brides and wedding professionals on Twitter! Today was no exception! Here are some great topics we covered…

Children- Whether you make the decision between an Adult-Only reception or to invite children to both; it is ultimately your decision. If you decide to go with the Adult-Only reception then the people that want to be there will be there. They will plan accordingly to be a part of your special day! If you do invite children know that you can always find children-friendly resorts, or create activity kits and kiddie corners at the reception for them to play. It is the concern of the parents of the children and their responsibility; so don’t stress! Just enjoy your wedding!

Destination Weddings- Again, we can’t reiterate enough that when it comes to weddings, the friends and family that want to be there, will be there. The people that matter in your life and you in theirs will make it a priority to share in this monumental event. Consider other ideas like the time of year..when it comes to prices of flights, or consider the next topic….

Skype- With all of the technology we have nowadays, it’s easier to connect when loved ones are a world away. Creating a skype account for the family and friends that can’t make it is a great way to broadcast the wedding in it’s entirety while those loved ones watch from the comfort of their own home. It’s simple enough to do with an Ipad! It’s a great way to include those that want to be there but can’t. Trust one person or two who are willing to help with the recording of it; you may even get lucky with a Photographer who might help out too! You never know!

Cross-Culture Weddings- More common than ever before; these weddings are a great way to celebrate the heritages of the couple. Incorporate different foods into the reception menu that speak from both cultures. Do a traditional ceremony specific to your culture. And also consider some music and colors!

Tune into twitter every Thursday at 2pm EST for more great wedding advice and tips from the pros! Hosted by @AngelSanchezPR and yours truly!

Till Then!

We had some great #Bridechat fun today and in case you missed out here’s a recap!
1)Photographer: When choosing a photographer make sure you review their portfolio and that they communicate with you. If the photographer understands you…it’s a win-win!
2)Entertainment: Whether you choose a DJ or an actual band make sure your wedding entertainer is both energetic and engaging but NOT the center of attention. Their goal is to get your guests dancing!
3)Food: Wedding cakes are the traditional dessert and one of the statements of your special day, however new trends are taking form. Cupcakes, dessert tables and cultural specific desserts are becoming the new theme for the Wedding Day Sweet Tooth.
4)Planning: Digital platforms like Pinterest and now, My Collection from Colin Cowie Weddings are growing quickly to bring you the easiest ways to gather inspiration and resources for all of your planning.
5)Fashion: Colored wedding dresses are becoming more popular! With Elie Saab’s Spring Collection of delicious pastels to Vera Wangs “Witchcraft” Fall 2012 bridal line…we will surely be seeing brides go the non-traditional route. And for those that are traditional-try a colored lining in your dress…it will be your little secret.
6)Favors: More couples are reverting back to the days of DIY favors. From homemade liqueurs to baked goods, these favors are personal and special. Other ideas? Philanthropy. Couples choose to donate on behalf of each guest to a charity they feel is important. Giving is good!
We hope this inspires you! Tune in every Thursday at 2pm for #Bridechat for all wedding conversation with some Wedding Pros!

Some wedding DOs and DON’Ts we learned in #BrideChat today with @AngelSanchezPR…
DO try the Sock Bun, an amazing heatless styling tool for creating bouncy curls.
DO pick up some Bumble & Bumble Styling Lotion if you are heat styling hair.
DON’T wear mineral makeup that makes you look washed out in photos.
DO Wear enough makeup to show up in photos, but not so much that you look like a clown.
DO use a wedding palette - it can be a very inspiring way to get your wedding decor together.
DON’T include registry information in our official wedding invitations.
DO share your registry information on your wedding website, or perhaps on inserts in your shower invitations.
DO consider financials when planning a destination bachelorette party. There is only so much you can expect people to spend on your big day!
DO try a themed bridal shower or bachelorette party. Check out Storyboard Weddings for more great ideas.
DO request that your guests make donations to a favorite charity, instead of gifts.
Thank you to the fabulous bloggers, photographers, graphic designers, stationers, and more who joined #BrideChat today. We had a blast!
