Our #Bridechat was all a-twitter yesterday with discussions and topics from all of our great Wedding Professionals! And in great wedding fashion we can’t steer clear of bridal silhouettes and the non-traditional route that designers showcased this past Bridal Market week.
~From reds to blacks, blushes to ice blue…are brides going to walk the aisle in these unconventional bridal colors? Or is this just a trend for the very fashion forward? We, wedding professionals, LOVE color for bridal! But yet agree, that for the most part brides will go the traditional way with a white or ivory gown. @markingrambride stated that “The number one color is overwhelmingly ivory.” The Aisle agrees, with brides at our most recent sample sale making selections of gowns in ivory and cream colored lace confections.
~The topic also arose about The Second Look; the Reception dress that many brides are opting for after the ceremony has taken place. Short and flirty dresses or long and sexy are popular choices for brides when they want to shed the voluminous tulle layers or heavy beadwork. The reception is a party after all, best to kick up your heels in a party dress!
~Convertible dresses and two piece ensembles for the wedding day are also not out of the question! For the bride on a budget these options offer versatility not just on their wedding day but in days after. Imagine a two piece bridal look: skirt and bustier. The bustier would be great paired with pants, short skirts and blazers that can be worn to work or a night out on the town!
~And of course, The Peplum, a silhouette that enhances the waist and accentuates the female curves! Popular this season, The Peplum is major! Brides, don’t be afraid! Try this silhouette!
Until next week’s #bridechat…love and weddings!
